Online learning for agrifood professionals
The food systems approach is increasingly being used to understand how food is produced and consumed, with an optimal outcome for human health, social justice, economic endeavour and the preservation of planetary resources. Since the UN Food Systems Summit in September 2021, it has become central to policy and practice of many international development and research organisations, multilateral organisations and in programmes and policies aiming at improving Food and Nutrition Security.
The E-course on Food Systems was originally developed in 2021 to inform staff of Dutch embassies and ministries working on this topic. The course was adapted and offered to the wider network of agrifood professionals interested in food system transformation in low and middle income countries. The e-course is free to attend and is hosted by NFP, facilitated by Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation and supported by the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The E-course offers the opportunity to engage, discuss and share experiences with policy makers from national governments, professionals working in development organisations, NGOs, private sector, and knowledge and education institutions from across the world. Participant feedback has been very positive on both the content and the delivery model.
