Saline Water and Food Systems
The Netherlands has a solid and promising position in the field of salinity, with a focus on saline agriculture, growing of salt-tolerant crops, linkages with irrigation and drainage. The Netherlands is internationally also known for its integral and systems approach in tackling the mitigating and adaptation of salinity issues. The general picture is that better coordination and cooperation between Dutch organisations is needed to keep and strengthen that international position. More importantly, it will further strengthen the Netherlands contribution to tackling salinisation and thus contributing to SDG2 – Zero Hunger. For this reason, the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality invited Netherlands Food Partnership (NFP) and Netherlands Water Partnership (NWP) to explore the development of a new partnership or platform on ‘Saline Water & Food Systems’ (SW&FS).

NL-CGIAR Strategic Partnership
CGIAR, as a global partnership engaged in research about food security. Since 2015, the Netherlands has contributed to these efforts in the NL-CGIAR Strategic Partnership, facilitated by Netherlands Food Partnership. In the Strategic Partnership particular focus will be attributed to domains where CGIAR and Dutch partners have complementary expertise and to promoting research impact through interdisciplinary research approaches, co-creation and downstream applied research partnerships, including private sector and civil society organisations.

Clim-Eat | The Think and Do Tank for Climate and Food
Clim-Eat is a new Think and Do Tank for food and climate, hosted by the Netherlands Food Partnership, that works to radically accelerate climate action in our food systems by bridging the gap between science and action. Through innovative engagement, actionable evidence generation, and effective outreach efforts, Clim-Eat seeks to challenge and change science and policy for food systems in low- and middle-income countries.

FORQLAB Living Lab
Food waste Reduction and food Quality living LAB (FORQLAB) is a consortium led by 4 Dutch and 2 Kenyan universities and also involves companies, business support organisations, knowledge partners and alumni networks in dairy and avocado sectors. FORQLAB follows a living lab approach: doing applied research with the business partners in order to find and test technical solutions and tools as well as look into better coordination in the supply chains.

E-course | Food Systems
Together with Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation NFP organises an e-course on Food Systems. Each edition of the E-course has welcomed 500+ agriculture and food professionals from around the world. During this course, participants deepen their understanding of the food systems approach and learn how to apply this in their work. The e-course is a mentored online course of 4 weekly modules and includes self-paced learning blocks, plenary sessions and optional group work.
