Introducing new NFP Interim Executive Director Han de Groot

Han de Groot can best be described as a driven manager who helps organisations create greater impact. Han is an experienced CEO with a track record in NGOs active in agriculture, food, biodiversity and social justice. He is a skilled advisor and actor within the fields of corporate social responsibility, international relations, stakeholder management, organisational development and governance.

Han also has a proven track record of supporting organisations by focusing on their qualities as well as team results, to transition them into their next phase of organisational development. “Whilst fulfilling my role as Chief Executive Officer at the Rainforest Alliance, I was responsible for the implementation of the organisation's global strategy. During my time at UTZ I also oversaw the further development of the organisation's coffee and cocoa sustainability certification programme, which subsequently became the largest in the world.”

“In my new role as NFP’s Interim Director I will use the experience gained, which I have built up in the private and public sectors, nationally and internationally, to enable NFP to take the next step. Together with partners, we will look at how we can best achieve our goals, as without them, a partnership is nowhere of course.”

Han understands the important role and added value that NFP can contribute, especially with the current global situation in which food insecurity has been exacerbated by climate change, conflicts and Covid 19, all of which have pushed up global food prices to record levels.

“NFP provides me with the opportunity to establish collaborations in a sector that’s close to my heart. One of my first experiences with NFP was World Food Day 2022, it was inspiring to see everyone in action and working together. The results were there for all to see."
