Youth Agroecological Businesses Awarded at YALTA Business Accelerator Pitch Finale
On April 1, the YALTA Business Accelerator Pitch Finale took place, with 11 finalists from four countries competing for an award for their agroecology-related business. The Finale was held simultaneously in Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, and Uganda, with presentations streamed live from each country.

The event began with showcasing each competing startup in one slide each. Both online and offline participants including investors were excited to join this interesting event.
What is the YALTA Accelerator?
Under the support of IKEA Foundation, the Netherlands Food Partnership in partnership with BoP Innovation Center initiated the YALTA Business Accelerator programme to support young entrepreneurs in Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda to develop their agroecological business ideas for a sustainable, healthy and diverse food system.
Who are the winners of the competition?
A group of 11 jury members from the four countries decided to give the awards to:
- 1st Place: Dudu Masters Limited
- 2nd Place: BeeGulf Ltd and Women Smiles Uganda.

Rwanda's finalists were overjoyed when BeeGulf took second place
The winners received a prize package that included a cash prize of EUR 5000 for the first place winner and a cash prize of EUR 2,500 for the second place winner, as well as three months of training from the BoP Team.
