World Food Day 2026 takes place on 20 October at the Fokker Terminal in The Hague. This year's theme: Partnerships that Feed the Future — Facing today's reality, taking action for tomorrow. Something struck me during our final Food Diamond Dialogue session on June 2nd, which brought together people from knowledge institutions, civil society organizations, government, and the private and financial sector - the so-called Dutch Diamond actors. As a room full of professionals from these diverse fields gathered to discuss how we can collectively increase our impact on food and nutrition security in low- and middle-income countries, it became clear how differently organizations within and across the Diamond perceive their roles and responsibilities.

The Biodiversity & Food Systems Shared Messages are the result of an intentional community-owned co-development process convened by the Netherlands Food Partnership and shaped together with members of the Biodiversity & Food Systems Partnership. The Shared Messages articulate a common ground across sectors, actors, and scales, while recognising the importance of pluralism, different ways of knowing, and context-specific pathways for change.
