Dutch Food Systems Summit preparations

In September 2021, the UN Food Systems Summit will take place as part of the Decade of Action to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. The Summit will launch bold new actions to deliver progress on all 17 SDGs, each of which relies to some degree on healthier, more sustainable and equitable food systems.

Guided by five Action Tracks, the Summit will bring together key players from the worlds of science, business, policy, healthcare and academia, as well as farmers, indigenous people, youth organizations, consumer groups, environmental activists, and other key stakeholders. Before, during and after the Summit, these actors will come together to bring about tangible, positive changes to the world’s food systems.

Netherlands Food Partnership hosts three preparatory information meetings for Dutch stakeholders who are active in the area of Food & Nutrition Security in low- and middle-income countries. In these meeting, organisations share information about their preparations for the Food Systems Summit and explore options for further collaboration.

National Dialogues

  • June 2021. Start of Dutch National Food Systems Dialogues hosted by Ministries of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality and Foreign Affairs. In the National Food Dialogue, one table will look at the international context.
  • Have a look at the agenda per country. National food systems dialogues happen in many countries of the world. Dutch organisations may recommend their partners in LMICs to participate in these dialogues. More information about National Dialogues.
