New guidance available: Flexible livelihoods and food security programming in fragile settings

What room is there for flexibility in current Dutch funded food security programming in fragile settings? This question prompted the launch of a project at the end of 2021, that was to be delivered jointly by NFP, The Broker and ZOA. The primary goal of the project was to create the tools for both INGOs and policymakers, to take advantage of space for flexible programming that might otherwise be overlooked. The guidance developed in the course of this project is now available for use.

Minister Staghouwer and NFP acknowledge importance of collaborative action to foster global food systems resilience

Global food security is severely at risk as a result of the impact of multiple global crises: the war in Ukraine, climate change, and covid-19. Dutch Minister of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality Henk Staghouwer explored the opportunities for the Netherlands to sustainably address these risks in a meeting with Netherlands Food Partnership’s (NFP) Executive Director Myrtille Danse and Supervisory Board Chair Suzanne van Tilburg.

Since early 2020, Wageningen University & Research has been using rapid assessments to gain insight into the impact of COVID-19 on agrifood sectors in Africa and Asia. The unique method proved that stakeholders can adequately take actions to crisis with fast interventions.
