This study draws a rich and nuanced picture of West African food system resilience, with clear challenges and leverage points for enhancing capacities to respond to future shocks. The researchers hope that the publication will also inform and inspire you, either to dive deeper into West African food systems and their resilience, or to undertake any action to support them.

Transforming what the world eats will require transformations in leadership

Carmen Torres, part of the SUN Movement Civil Society Network in Latin America and the Caribbean, is involved in an initiative called “The Next Gen(d)eration of Leaders for a Well-Nourished World“. A task team of 12 women working in the field of nutrition and food systems. The purpose of the initiative is to create a leadership movement towards a well-nourished world. On International Women's Day she shared her insights.

The toolbox, launched by Wageningen University & Research and KIT Royal Tropical Institute and financed by the Netherlands Food Partnership provides policy makers and practitioners with practical guidance. It offers an effective and inclusive analysis method for food systems in low and middle income countries.
