Food and nutrition security stakeholders see many opportunities for collaboration in the new Dutch policy for Foreign Trade & Development Cooperation

Food and nutrition security are key domains of the new Dutch policy for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation (BHOS). Last Thursday, June 30, NFP hosted an online policy briefing session during which a broad representation of the Food and Nutrition Security (FNS) network had a conversation about this new policy note. The session served as an opportunity to reflect on the policy from the FNS perspective, and it provided a space to share expectations and recommendations for the parliamentary debate about the new policy.

New Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation policy submitted to Dutch Parliament Identifies Global Food Security as Key Priority

On 24 June 2022, the Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, Liesje Schreinemacher, presented her new policy ‘Doing what the Netherlands is good at’ in a letter to parliament. The policy outlines a strategic approach towards intensifying efforts within the domain of global food security.

Scenario Analysis and Webinar on Food Security Impacts of the Ukraine War

How can humanitarian and development organisations prepare for future impacts on food security due to the Ukraine war? To answer this question NFP, KUNO, and eight international NGOs worked with Wageningen University & Research to develop four scenarios that provide insights into possible implications for their work. The results were discussed in a webinar on 24 May where organisations looked forward together to see what they could do within their mandates to steer towards better prepared future actions.
